Privacy policy

Your captures stay on your Mac

Screenshots, recordings, camera video, microphone audio, and editing projects are created and stored on your Mac. ZaneShot does not upload them to our website or license service. You control where to save, export, copy, or delete them.

macOS asks for screen recording, microphone, and camera access when those features need it. You can change these permissions in macOS settings.

Purchases and licenses

Purchases are completed through Polar. Polar handles checkout, payment details, receipts, license keys, and protected downloads. We do not receive your full payment card number or keep a separate ZaneShot customer database. See Polar's privacy policy for its handling of purchase data.

To activate and check a license, the app sends your license key, a device identifier generated by the app, and activation details to our license service. The underlying secret stays in your macOS Keychain. During activation the app also sends the device name and app version. We use this information to enforce the one-Mac license, manage activations, and issue a short-lived offline license. Polar stores the license and activation records used for those checks.

Website data and cookies

Our hosting provider may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser information, and access logs to deliver and protect the site. We use an approximate country derived from your IP address to display the applicable price. See Vercel's privacy notice for information about its hosting data.

If you manage a license on this site, we place an encrypted, essential session cookie in your browser. It contains the license key needed for that session and expires after 10 minutes. We do not use an advertising or analytics cookie of our own.

The home page includes a YouTube video preview. Loading or playing it may send request information to YouTube, which handles that information under Google's privacy policy.

If you email us, we use your email address and message to respond to your request.

How long data is kept

Captures remain on your Mac until you delete them. The license portal cookie expires after 10 minutes. Offline licenses last up to seven days before the app needs to refresh them. We keep support emails only as needed to handle the request and related obligations. Polar and our hosting provider keep their records according to their own retention policies and applicable legal requirements.

Sharing and international processing

We use Polar for purchases, licenses, and downloads, and Vercel to host the website and license service. These providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices and rights

You can manage or release an activated Mac on the license page. You can ask about personal data we handle, or request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, by emailing reymarocero@gmail.com. For payment and account data held by Polar, you may also contact Polar directly.
